The GSSM robotics team, Pirate Squad, recently advanced to the semi-finals in the Zero Robotics SPHERES Challenge 2011, which is organized by MIT and NASA. As the only team from South Carolina, the Pirate Squad, along with their two alliance teams, placed 11th place in the nation.
