GSSM Foundation Receives $5,000 Scholarship Grant from AT&T-SC
June 26, 2008
The South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) Foundation is pleased to announce a $5,000 contribution for residential scholarships from AT&T-SC.
Located in Hartsville, GSSM is a public, residential high school for academically talented juniors and seniors from across the state. The annual fee to attend GSSM is $1,125 per year, yet 20 percent of students require partial or full scholarships.
“AT&T is committed to support projects that create learning opportunities; promote academic and economic achievement; and address community needs,” said Patrick Turner, general legal counsel for AT&T-SC. “We are committed to advancing education for all students, so we are particularly pleased that this investment will be used for need-based scholarships.”
Corporate social responsibility is integral to AT&T’s culture as they continually engage in initiatives that enrich and strengthen their communities. Thanks to these efforts, AT&T contributed more than $164 million through corporate, employee and AT&T Foundation giving programs last year.
