What's New with the New Alumni Association?
December 14, 2006
The Task Force of the new and improved alumni association, a small
group of GSSM alumni dedicated to improving alumni relations for the
School, has been hard at work to plan and implement a new society for
GSSM. The group is currently in the midst of creating bylaws and a
constitution, the main framework of any organization.
The small group has set a handful of goals, which include:
- Create an up-to-date alumni database
- Connect with current students
- Connect with fellow alumni by hosting small events where large clusters of alumni are present
The Task Force consists of 15 GSSM alumni who volunteer their time toward building a new alumni association.
The group includes:
- Dwight Floyd, '90
Columbia
- Shiva Hodges, '91
Columbia - Ty Coleman, '92
Lexington - Art Tompkins, '92
Greenville - Sarah Spruill, '93
Columbia - Britta Garris, '95
Dillon - John Church, '95
North Myrtle Beach - Tina Beasley Baggott, '95
North Augusta - Joel Sawyer, '95
Irmo - Ben Pleune, '95

Not only has the group been busy working behind the scenes, but they
have been involved with GSSM school events as well. Many of the Task
Force members traveled to Hartsville to welcome the new junior class
and returning senior class at Move-In Day in August.
If you are interested in becoming involved with the new GSSM Alumni
Association, volunteering to attend a local Discovery Session or
participating on a career panel at the School, please contact Jacqulyne
