Two GSSM Students Awarded College Scholarships from the Siemens Foundation

February 4, 2008

Two GSSM students recently received the Siemens Award for Advanced Placement, a $2,000 college scholarship from the Siemens Foundation.

Bella Wang, a senior from Florence; and Junda Chen, a senior from Fort Mill, both will receive the scholarship this fall at the college of their choice.

The students were selected for this award based on their exceptional performances in Advanced Placement math and science. Given annually, The Siemens Award for Advanced Placement recognizes one male and one female from each state.

Now in its 10th year, The Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement exemplify the strong partnership between the Siemens Foundation and the College Board to expand the pool of math, science and technology talent that is needed for the continued growth of business and industry in the United States and beyond.
