Dr. Smith has been teaching Introductory Physics, Calculus-Based Physics, and Astronomy at GSSM since the fall of 1989. Previously, he was an associate professor of physics at Centenary College in Shreveport, LA. In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Smith sponsors GSSM's Astronomy Club and Chess Club, which has won a number of state scholastic championships in the last 19 years. Dr. and Mrs. Smith have no children, but do have a horse and a cat.
