Adventures in The Theory of Numbers - 10F

DR. HEMANT PENDHARKAR, Vice President for Academics at GSSM, writes, "This course will build on mathematical concepts you have studied in middle and high school and introduce advanced techniques in the area of number theory. We will show how mathematical problems come about naturally and how existing or known techniques are not always sufficient to solve these problems.  We will not need calculators, computers, or satellites...but be sure to bring all the potent mathematical skills you have developed thus far!"  Tuition $515

Dr. Pendharkar received his PhD in mathematics, specifically in Operator Algebras, from the University of New Hampshire.  Prior to joining GSSM in 2007, he had taught graduate and undergraduate courses both in mathematics and in an MS program in management, as well as undergraduate courses in computer science and urban studies.  Dr. Pendharkar has published research articles in mathematics, computer science and theoretical physics.  He enjoys sports, and earned athletic scholarships as an undergraduate.
