Dynamic Web Page Creation with HTML and JavaScript
SSP FOR RISING TENTH GRADERS
Third Week: July 6-12
Dynamic Web Page Creation with HTML and JavaScript - 10I
MR. STEVEN WEINGARTNER, Instructor of Business Technologies at Florence-Darlington Technical College, will teach his students how to create web pages directly working with HTML (Hyper-Text Markup Language) code. Understanding the basic language of web pages allows for the incorporation of JavaScript (as well as other programming languages). With JavaScript, web pages can advance automatically, pictures can rotate, creatures can follow your mouse, and fireworks can even explode on a page (at no risk to the viewer)! This course follows the material taught over a semester that has been condensed into one action-packed week. Students will employ materials the instructor has authored on CD-ROM which make it easy for them to continue their learning and share their experiences long after SSP. No previous knowledge of HTML or JavaScript is required. If you already have significant experience creating web pages and/or programming experience with web pages, you may want to sign up for a different course. Tuition $625
Mr. Weingartner (BA, Vanderbilt Univ.; MBA, Univ. of Texas, Dallas) has also taught at the University of South Carolina, Coker College and SC State University. His many hobbies and interests include painting, bowling, and chess.
