About the GSSM/Google Collaboration

The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics and Google are collaborating to expand access to AI education for students and teachers across the state. Thanks to Google’s support, GSSM is launching a statewide initiative that includes the inaugural A.I. Faculty Fellows and the A.I. Educator Summer Institute. Together, these programs will help educators integrate artificial intelligence into classroom instruction while preparing students with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world. This partnership positions GSSM as a statewide resource for A.I. literacy and reflects a shared commitment to innovation, access, and opportunity for all South Carolina learners.

"The A.I. Educator Project, supported by a grant from Google, is an exciting opportunity for the GSSM Outreach Center to lead the way with multi-faceted support for teachers who wish to bring artificial intelligence and data science into their South Carolina classrooms. The two facets of this project – the A.I. Faculty Fellows and the A.I. Educator Summer Institute – will provide free professional development and instructional resources for teachers over the next three years. I am honored and thrilled to be directing this project. "
