Get ready to dive into the exciting world of electronics, coding and engineering through hands-on projects using Arduino microcontrollers, breadboard circuits, and Tinkercad! In this course, supported by GSSM's Govie student leaders you will learn the fundamentals of physical computing. Are you ready to unleash your creativity and start building and programming circuits and games? Let's embark on this thrilling journey together!
ENGAGE is a multiple-session in-person program in which students will use critical thinking skills and deductive reasoning to explore the science and technology behind real-world problems as they work through mini-challenges while learning skills used to create their own project. This is an introductory class, no prior coding or electronics experience is required.
WHEN: Eight Mondays, September 21 - November 9, 2026
TIME: 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
LOCATION: 401 Railroad Ave, Hartsville, SC 29550
WHO: 6th - 8th grade students
COST: A student’s time and willingness to learn new things!
Space is limited to 20 students per class. ENGAGE will be held on the GSSM Campus.
NOTE: To successfully complete the ENGAGE experience, attendance at all eight sessions is mandatory. Before registering, check your calendar to ensure there aren’t any scheduling conflicts.
