In this course, you will learn Lua, a dynamic programming language like Python, and bring your game ideas to life on the virtual game platform PICO-8. Are you ready to unleash your creativity and start building your very own games? Let's embark on this thrilling journey together!
ENGAGE is a multiple-session in-person program in which students will use critical thinking skills and deductive reasoning to explore the science and technology behind real-world problems as they work through mini-challenges while learning skills used to create their own project.
WHEN: Eight Mondays, February 2 - March 23, 2026
TIME: 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
LOCATION: 401 Railroad Ave, Hartsville, SC 29550
WHO: 6th - 8th grade students
COST: A student’s time and willingness to learn new things!
Space is limited to 20 students per class. ENGAGE will be held on the GSSM Campus.
NOTE: To complete the ENGAGE experience, attendance at all eight sessions is mandatory. Before registering, check your calendar to ensure there aren’t any scheduling conflicts.
