School Report Card
Each year, the State Department of Education (SDE) releases its State Report Card for each school and district. Specialized schools like GSSM are challenged to describe their programs and improvements in terms comparable to normals schools and districts. We work closely with our SDE partners each year to create a report that is informative and reflective of our mission. We are pleased to share the most recent report card below.
GSSM Schedule of Fees
GSSM's residential and virtual programs are tuition-free. Families may be asked to contribute to actual costs associated with the meal plan and optional travel and program expenses. It is important to remember that admission to GSSM's residential and virtual programs are need-blind and that no student admitted to these programs will be denied permission due to inability to pay a fee. Financial aid provided to students is made possible due to the generosity of alumni, families, and businesses who provide these funds through the GSSM Foundation. Our Outreach camps may charge tuition to recover a portion of our operating costs.
GSSM Board of Trustees
Regularly scheduled meetings of the GSSM Board of Trustees are published a year in advance and public notice is given again no less than two weeks before each meeting. Agendas for each meeting are posted no less than 24 hours before each meeting.
GSSM Title IX Poilicy
The SC Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics, as required by Title IX of the Education amendments of 1972 and its corresponding regulations (“Title IX”), does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs or activities.
Limited Use Charge Cards
GSSM is a state agency that uses limited use, charge cards to procure certain allowable goods and services. State regulations require that these charges be made available to the public for purposes of fiscal transparency. The SC Comptroller General's office publishes charge card activity monthly for all participating agencies, including GSSM.
