Pre-Enrollment Requirements (8th and 9th Grades)

  • Students who apply for admission to Accelerate must have completed Algebra I prior to their 9th-grade year.
  • By the end of their 9th-grade year, all students must have completed Algebra II.

Recommendations for 10th-Grade Year

**In their junior (11th-grade) year, students begin taking dual-enrollment courses.  Because students earn college credit for these classes, which are more difficult than traditional high-school courses, the Accelerate program makes the following recommendations:

  • Students are highly encouraged to take general chemistry at their home schools during their 10th-grade year.
  • If possible, students are encouraged to take geometry at their home schools prior to or during their 10th-grade year.
  • Students are highly encouraged to take English III (or a comparable course) at their home schools during their 10th-grade year.
