Spend a day in the shoes of a Govie and experience student life in action.
What You'll Do:
- Attend real classes during the school day
- Tour the residence halls and enjoy lunch in the dining hall
- Connect with campus ambassadors and meet caring staff
Schedule Highlights:
- Aim to arrive between 8:30-8:45 a.m. to check in and begin your day
- Families can explore downtown Hartsville and then rejoin for a 1p.m. campus tour

- Open to current 10th graders who have started an application for admission to GSSM
- Offers a firsthand perspective on academics, routines, and campus life

Tips for an Awesome Shadow Day
We can't wait to welcome you to campus! Here's how to make the most of your visit:
Arrival Time: Plan to arrive on campus no later than 8:45 a.m. so you'll have plenty of time to check in and get settled before your day as a Govie begins.
While Your Student Shadows: Families, we invite you to enjoy all that charming downtown Hartsville has to offer. Local coffee shops, boutiques, and peaceful parks are just minutes away. Be sure to return by 1:00 p.m. to join the campus tour and see GSSM through your own eyes!
A Note About Our Schedule: GSSM follows standard holiday breaks though dates may differ from your local school district. To avoid any surprises, give our Office of Admissions a quick call at least a week ahead if you have questions about your scheduled visit.
Feel Free to Stay Awhile: Shadow Days wrap up at 2:00 p.m., but you're welcome to linger and chat with staff, explore our spaces, or simply soak in the GSSM atmosphere. We're here to help you feel right at home.
