Jason Hong, PhD 

Class of 1993

Professor of Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University; Co-founder of Wombat Security Technologies

As co-founder of his own technology security company, Jason's work is influencing privacy norms for personal devices. 

"I went straight from PhD to a faculty position. Computer science is pretty unusual in that people aren't expected to do a lot of postdocs, unlike most other fields of science."

Romiya Glover Barry 

Class of 2000

Manager of Clinical Operations at AngioDynamics, Inc.

A Summerville native, Romiya Glover Barry’s career in science first began when she chose to attend GSSM.

“GSSM provided a safe environment for me to think critically and to think beyond the barriers,” she said.

Growing up, Romiya always had an interest in science and medicine, but the GSSM senior summer research experience in a biotech laboratory solidified the idea as a likely career choice.

Joey Wilson 

Class of 2013

Clemson University Student

Joey Wilson, GSSM Class of 2013, has traveled all over the globe. 
The Balkans region, Singapore, London, Prague, Budapest and China have all played a part in shaping Joey’s future. But soon, he’s taking it one step further.

In December, Joey was named one of 129 global Schwarzman Scholars.
