Q: What will the daily schedule look like?
A:
Each day will run from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM and will consist of Mini Engineering Challenges (MEC), Daily Engineering Challenges (DEC) and interactions with actual engineers!  We will take one field trip to an engineering company during the week.
 
Q: Do I need to bring food to camp?
A:
 You will need to pack a lunch for Monday-Wednesday of CREATEng camp. We provide daily snacks. However, if you have dietary restrictions or serious allergies, you should bring your snacks with your lunch.

Q: What types of engineering will I be exploring?
A:
You will explore several types of engineering, including civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.

Q: How much does CREATEng cost?
A:
There is a $225 fee for camp.  This includes all instruction, supplies, snacks, field trip fees, a t-shirt for each participatant, and a pizza lunch on the last day of camp. Each year we offer an early bird discount. 
 
Q: What supplies do I need to bring to camp?
A:
Nothing! You will be provided with a camp workbook, a writing utensil and all of the supplies you will need to complete your challenges.
 
Q: Should I bring my own electronic devices?
A:
The camp supplies all electronic devices necessary. The camp staff cannot guarantee the security of your electronics while at camp. Students may bring cell phones, but we request parents set clear guidelines on use. Cell phones cannot be used during class time. If devices are deemed to be used inappropriately, they will be confiscated and returned to parents at the end of camp.

Q: Is this an overnight camp?
A:
No, CREATEng is a day camp. Parents/guardians are required to drop students off in the morning and pick them up at the end of each camp day.
 
Q: Is financial assistance available?
A:
Yes, a limited amount of financial aid is available to residents of South Carolina. It is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Families who are interested in applying must complete the financial assistance section of the program application.
 
Q: Can I see what my child has been working on all week?
A:
Yes! There will be a showcase on Thursday afternoon of each week of camp. You will get an invitation at the beginning of the week.
 
Q: Can I request to be on a team with my friends?
A:
Campers will be assigned to specific instructors. If you happen to be in the same class, yes you can! However, camp is a great time to meet new people and make new friends!
