Dr. Emilye Mobley is a seasoned administrator who served small colleges most of her career. Her professional positions have included vice president for student affairs at Bennett College in Greensboro, NC; dean of students at North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, NC; and director of residential life at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. However, as the vice president for student development at GSSM, she often states that she never expected to have this much fun at work during this season in her career. She is also an educational consultant focusing in student affairs, higher education administration, program evaluation, and staff development. Her research interests include character development, civility, and organizational behavior and culture.
Dr. Mobley earned a doctorate in educational studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her master’s degree in counseling and guidance from UNC Greensboro and her bachelor’s is in education from UNC Chapel Hill. She also completed the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University.
