Product Analytics Manager

BoomTown is seeking a Product Analytics Manager to help us both build out our product analytics infrastructure and subsequently leverage it to make more informed, data driven decisions as we seek to improve our platform.
The Product Analytics Manager will quantify Product activity and usage so that future product enhancements will be prioritized appropriately and customer experience is optimally improved.
We are looking for someone who embraces a philosophy of “no facts exist inside the building, only opinions” and is relentless in using data to seek out facts. This role requires the ability to think critically and scientifically about what our data can tell us about the real world experiences of our customers.
Partner with Product Managers to understand business requirements, product direction, roadmaps, key metrics, and goals for data-mining efforts
Ensure we are using the right tools for the job
Define the data to be collected on existing and new product features
Build reports & dashboards to keep our build teams constantly informed
Develop and conduct A/B tests, analyze the results and provide actionable insights
Effectively present and visualize data/analysis in a way that gets to the heart of the most important business questions facing the Product Team
Ensure the accuracy of the analysis and the interpretation of the data by team members
Summarize analysis and communicate findings effectively to key stakeholders
Actively partner with Engineering to optimize data tracking and quality
5+ years of analytical experience
A proven track record of building out and owning Product Analytics in a technology focused (preferably SaaS) organization
Product experience with A/B testing, conversion funnels, retention tracking, etc
Experience working with large quantities of raw, disorganized data
Ability to work seamlessly with many different teams and personality types
Strong intellectual curiosity with desire to go deep and understand the core drivers of customer behavior
Proven track record of implementing actionable insights from complex datasets
High proficiency with Excel including pivoting capabilities and analysis modules
Strong affinity for visualizing data in a way that is relevant to answering specific business questions
Bachelors or Masters in math, economics, engineering or other quantitative field, with track record of academic excellence
We’d be impressed if you had:
Advanced knowledge of databases: designing schemas, optimizing queries, etc
Experience with MixPanel, KissMetrics, Woopra, etc
Programming / TSQL experience
Data Warehouse / ETL experience
