This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader wanting to make a difference in the lives of students and families across the state of South Carolina.
The Vice President for Enrollment Management provides leadership and support for advancing the overall enrollment goals of GSSM. The Vice President leads GSSM’s efforts to identify, recruit, and admit the optimal number and quality of students for GSSM. The Vice President will work collaboratively with GSSM internal and external constituencies to develop a comprehensive recruitment and admission plan and will ensure that enrollment management plans are consistent with GSSM’s strategic plan. This position reports to the President and serves as a member of the President’s Council. GSSM seeks a Vice President for Enrollment Management to be named in time to launch the fall 2019 recruiting season.
Master’s degree is required in counseling, student affairs administration, educational leadership, or related field.Ph.D. is preferred.
Eight years of related experience in admissions, including recruitment, budgetary and personnel responsibilities, strategic planning, and program development.Preference will be given to candidates with admissions experience at selective high schools or small colleges.
Experience with current best practices in admission processes/enrollment management.
A record of dynamic, collaborative, proactive, visionary, and ethical leadership.
Proven track record for creatively and effectively growing enrollment in a competitive environment.
Experience with collaborative recruitment and retention strategies.
Knowledge of admissions databases and information systems and familiarity with predictive modeling are required.
Experience in recruiting and supporting a diverse student population.
Description of Work: The major responsibilities for this position are:
Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-year institutional strategic enrollment management plan.
Ensure recruitment and enrollment priorities, goals, and objectives are aligned with GSSM’s strategic plan
Develop and recommend GSSM’s overall enrollment goals.
Facilitate communication and cooperation within and among GSSM constituents to support enrollment initiatives and goals. Build internal strategic partnerships to mobilize the campus to ensure recruiting and overall enrollment success. Develop and regularly convene a campus-wide Enrollment Committee.
Build external partnerships to support strategic enrollment objectives.
Provide oversight for all recruitment efforts and admissions processes, manage all aspects of the enrollment process, including development of the prospect and inquiry pools, conversion of prospects to completed applications, timely application processing and review, and achievement of enrollment goals.
Provide leadership of enrollment initiatives, including the prospecting and recruitment of students, the management and development of recruiting territories, the strategic use of resources, and the implementation of efforts to assure an adequate yield of admitted students
Provide leadership and supervision of recruitment and admissions personnel.
Plan and successfully execute all Admissions campus visitation programs, as well as all Preview and Shadow Days.Coordinate the May Orientation Day and work closely with other offices to ensure an effective and efficient transition to GSSM for new students.
Monitor the progress of campus-wide initiatives and complex projects that have an impact on recruitment and retention of students.
Work closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive enrollment marketing strategy to achieve recruitment goals
Oversee the quality, accuracy, and timely dissemination of all enrollment reporting.
Manage the budgets related to recruitment and admissions.
Operative knowledge of change management, and outstanding leadership in community building.
