Dr. Mark Godwin
Dr. Godwin joined the GSSM faculty in the fall of 1998. He teaches Introductory Physics, AP Physics 1, Modern Physics and Fluids, Thermo, and Optics in the spring. Dr. Godwin served as a board member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology for 12 years, coached the volleyball team for 14 years and is an active supporter of the Ultimate Club.
Prior to coming to GSSM, Dr. Godwin was a visiting scientist at the Institut de Physique Nucleaire in Orsay, France. From his research in nuclear physics, he has published a half-dozen papers and given a number of invited talks, conference presentations and seminars. In the realm of hobbies, he walks his dogs (CeeCee and Neutrino), enjoys ultimate frisbee, progressive rock music and is no longer being abducted by flying saucers monthly.
