Sent on behalf of Interim President / Senior Vice President for Residential, Mr. Danny Dorsel:
Dear GSSM Community,
Please find below some updates for this week.
COVID-19 testing, cases and contract tracing
- There were no COVID-19 cases reported this week.
- Thanks to our continued partnership with MUSC, the final third of the students were tested on Thursday and all were negative.
- We will start over next week with the first third of students being tested again.
Reminders of safety precaution
- Students need to sit only one person per bench seat at the tables outside which means no more than four students should be at a table.
- The REACH survey no longer needs to be completed on Saturdays and Sundays; however, completing the self-health check is still a good idea for yourself and your community members.
- Walking boundary reminder: Students may travel primarily on Carolina Avenue and College Avenue between 4th and 6th Streets. Mask wearing is required when walking around Hartsville.
- While students are not prohibited from eating in local restaurants, students should be mindful of the associated risks per CDC guidance.
- Thank you to all students for continuing to do the right thing to keep themselves and others healthy.

- We hope to have our plan ready to be sent to students and families in early March.
I hope everyone has a great and refreshing weekend.
Sincerely,
