How long have you worked at GSSM?
Since May 2014
Tell us what you love about working at GSSM.
I have always loved learning. I was one of those kids that loved school. What better place to spend my days – a school where kids love to learn!
Please list and describe any personal information you would like to share.
Mom of three, grandma of three. Because of my husband's military career, I've lived in several places on the east coast of the U.S. I love reading and learning. For relaxation after a long day, I color!
Give us a Twitter-style short bio about yourself.
Bookaholic. Outgoing introvert. Untraditional cheerleader. Real-life medical TV junkie. Unapologetically silly.
What would your students be surprised to learn about you?
I was painfully shy as a child.
What is your perfect pizza?
Chicago-style pizza with extra cheese, Italian sausage - cut into squares.
What's the best thing about Hartsville?
More relaxing pace of life and fields of cotton (when flowering, they're beautiful to look at; when recently harvested, reminds me of snow).
Who would be invited to your fantasy dinner party (living or deceased) and why?
Just God and me...'cause I have lots of questions!
What's your favorite quote?
"Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." - Frederick Douglass
Anything else you'd like to tell us?
I'm originally from Chicago. Raising three children to adulthood was the hardest but most satisfying challenge I've ever met. My favorite creatures are babies, dolphins and butterflies.
