Students from GSSM partnered with Darlington County Habitat for Humanity during the 2017-2018 school year to build an affordable family home in Hartsville’s historic Oakdale neighborhood adjacent to the School. GSSM students, faculty, and staff contributed over 800 hours after school and on Saturdays. Students participated in all facets of construction, from floor joists to roof trusses and everything in between. On Sunday, September 30, GSSM students will join Darlington County Habitat for Humanity to dedicate the new home and present the keys to their newest neighbor.
