GSSM, as part of their commitment to reach beyond the walls of its residential program in Hartsville, welcomed local elementary students for a series of STEM days.
Throughout the month of November, the Duke Center for Science Education & Outreach held two STEM Days for 110 fourth graders from Lucy T. Davis Elementary and two days for 45 fifth graders from Carolina Elementary. Students engaged in inquiry labs centered on Biology, Chemistry, Circuits, Engineering, or Energy in Motion. “The GSSM Eagles were delighted to host our young friends for a fun day of STEM,” said Irene Middleton, Director of STEM Experiences.
