The Gerlad R. Malloy Student Activity Center and north lobby were a hive of activity on Sunday, September 2nd for the annual Club and Community Engagement Fair.
Between the colorful, eye catching displays, sumptuous treats, and live music, there was plenty to buzz about. Around 40 clubs and 6 community-engagement placement opportunities were showcased with representatives from each on hand to chat about the opportunities available. Govies (and even some visiting parents) visted each table, gathering information and making plans for future involvement.
When asked about the management of the event by the Interclub Club Committee (ICC) of the Student Council, Dean of Students Dr. Cathy Thomas said, “The ICC has done a great job of managing all clubs and student driven organizations. They make sure the groups are maintaining their records, are actively participating in the community, and embracing the co-curricular spirit of GSSM. This is our third year of doing the fair, and each year it gets better.”
