GSSM Outreach programs provide schools around the state with high-quality learning experiences that develop interest and knowledge in science, math, engineering, and technology.
This week, Outreach Programs Director Irene Middleton and four GSSM students participated in the Fall STEAM Festival at Lucy T. Davis Elementary School. Working alongside other community organizations, SPARK! leaders Albert Rancu and Darby Porter led students through fun learning activities centered on chemical reactions. ENGAGE leaders William Hobbs guided students through the engineering design process with paper bridges while Caitlin Harrington introduced students to the workings of circuits and using MaKey-MaKey kits.
