The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) Foundation is pleased to welcome Renee Williamson, the new Director of its Career Services Center.
“We are thrilled to have Renee join our team and cannot wait to see what energy and enthusiasm she brings to this role,” said Kim Bowman, CEO, GSSM Foundation and EVP Strategic Direction, GSSM. “Renee has an impressive track record and work ethic and I’m confident she will excel in bringing our Career Services Center to life.”
In her new position, Williamson will work to connect, educate and make one-to-one matches between GSSM alumni seeking jobs and internships and South Carolina companies seeking remarkable talent.
Additionally, Williamson will connect graduates of GSSM’s Accelerate engineering program with internships following high school graduation.
Williamson received her Bachelor in Arts in English, Communications and Marketing from Augusta State University. Prior to GSSM, she served as the Executive Director of Murrells Inlet 2020 and as the Marketing and Membership Director of the Wachesaw Plantation Club.
“Folks have been asking me why I would relocate from Pawleys Island to the big city of Columbia, and I always answer enthusiastically ‘Because of the amazing opportunity to work for GSSM!’” Williamson said. “I am thrilled to be working with all of GSSM’s alumni and I am looking forward to assisting them with their career goals and dreams.
