GSSM Students Teach Technology to Hartsville Community Through Weekly TechTalk

March 22, 2016

Students from the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) are helping adults in the Hartsville community to better understand the ever-changing world of technology through weekly TechTalk workshops. Students share their knowledge of new devices and software through interactive programs at the Hartsville Memorial Library every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

Anya Bali, GSSM Class of 2015 and Hartsville native, founded TechTalk in 2014. She, along with 10 other dedicated GSSM volunteers, began working with people in the Hartsville community to acquaint them, not only with modern technology, but also with GSSM and its students.

Now, the torch has been passed to 11 dedicated students who provide assistance and workshops.

“TechTalk has allowed me to not only continue teaching people around me about their technology, but has given me the chance to get to know the community around me and to help others become more comfortable with technology,” said Ellie Stuckey, GSSM Class of 2016 and current TechTalk volunteer.

For more information, follow TechTalk on twitter: @TechTalk_Hville or email the students at techtalkhartsville@gmail.com.
