Jennifer Webb, Award-Winning Medical Illustrator, to Address GSSM Student Body

The South Carolina Governor's School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) is pleased to announce that Hartsville native, Jennifer Webb will address GSSM students during a SmartChat speaker engagement. Her presentation regarding Human Anatomy and Graphic Design will take place at 12:45 p.m. on October 28 on the GSSM campus in Hartsville, SC.

After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Scientific Illustration from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science degree from the Medical College of Georgia, Webb began her career as a medical illustrator in Richmond, Virginia, at Seif & Associates (now S&A Medical Graphics), a medical legal firm.  

She has produced medical illustrations for the University of Virginia and her work has been published in The American Surgeon and numerous other journals. She is the recipient of multiple awards from the Association of Medical Illustrators.
Telecommuting from her home studio in Hartsville, South Carolina, she maintains a creative services business that provides graphic design, websites and branding services.

A program of the BCBS Economics & Finance Institute, the SmartChat Speaker Series is designed to enhance students' education while inspiring them through the stories and experiences of GSSM alumni, as well as the Palmetto State’s leading innovators in biology, chemistry, computer science, drama and film, economics, history, physics and writing.
