Dear GSSM Family,
Students continue to return to GSSM, and we are thankful that so many of our families escaped serious harm from the floods around the state. Of course, our hearts are with those who are suffering and working to rebuild. The effects of this disaster will be felt for a long time. Our primary concern still remains the safety of our community and we continue to advise those in severely affected areas to delay their return plans until they determine that it is safe to travel.
Our plan remains to resume classes tomorrow (Thursday) using the Friday class schedule and only reviewing material that has already been covered. Teachers will make review notes available via Canvas and email.
We want to hear from families who do not plan to send their student back this week. We understand that conditions in your area may make it unsafe or impossible to travel, and that some families may need their student to stay with them as they recover. Please let us know if this is the case for you by calling the RLC duty phone (843 858-1603) and sending an email to Mr. Staples (email@example.com). Also, if you know of a family unable to travel, and think that they may not be receiving these email updates, we’d appreciate you letting us know so that we may reach out to them by phone.
Several families have offered their assistance to other GSSM families who may be in need. If you, or a family you know, could benefit from assistance, please let us know and we will do our best to help.
If you have any questions or concerns you’d like to discuss, please be in touch with me (firstname.lastname@example.org, 843 857-4675) or Dr. Mobley (email@example.com, 843 383-3905).
We all look forward to returning to more normal routines as soon as possible.
