Dear GSSM Families,

I hope this message finds you well during these trying times we are all experiencing.  The Business Office has recently received questions regarding 2019-2020 academic year student meal plan fees. GSSM will not require families to pay for meals during the time that residential students are taking classes from home due to the COVID-19 virus.

If you are making scheduled payments, please discontinue those payments until further notice.  If you pay via automatic payments through your financial institution, please contact them to suspend that payment. We understand that it may be too late to stop your upcoming automatic payment. Therefore, please note that we will review all accounts and issue any necessary refunds once we know how long the students will be away from campus.

For families who have paid their meal fees in full for the school year, we will be providing a prorated refund based on the amount of time that students are away from campus. Once we get direction from the State Department of Education regarding how long the students will be taking classes virtually, we can determine the exact amount that the fees will be prorated for each family for the 2019-2020 academic year.

A communication regarding the exact prorated meal fee will be sent directly to each family from the Business Office. If you have any additional questions, please contact Ms. Thomasina Wilson (Business Office Coordinator): wilson@gssm.k12.sc.us or Mr. Brock Heron (VP for Finance and Operations): bheron@gssm.k12.sc.us

Sincerely,
