Our study of American and European literary traditions will incorporate a wide range of critical approaches, including discussions about history, ethics, race, class, and gender. You will write a variety of essays, and you will also have the chance to perform dramatic scenes, produce film interpretations of literature, and present arguments before your fellow students in a debate-style format. In addition to literary analysis and research papers, you will get a chance to explore a number of different genres of writing, each with their own challenges and criteria.
