Save the Date for Giving Tuesday: 12/1/2020!

In the spirit of Newton's Laws of Motion, we developed GSSM's Govies Laws of Motion. However, did you know there is a Zeroth Law of Motion?

At any instant of time, an object responds only to the forces it feels at that instant.

Giving Tuesday is that instant of time, and you are the force our Govies will feel at that instant. Be the force behind Govies in Motion this Giving Tuesday by:

  1. Sharing our social media content
  2. Telling a prospective Govie about GSSM and/or telling GSSM about a prospective Govie
  3. Posting on social media about your Giving Tuesday activities with #GoviesInMotion #GivingTuesday
  4. Donating to the Govies in Motion Fund

We’ve got some fun activities and friendly competitions planned throughout the day. Join us here or on Facebook for updates!

Govie Laws of Motion

  1. Govies in motion remain moving at the same speed and in the same direction until acted upon by an external force.
  2. The greater the Govie's potential, the greater the amount of force that is needed to accelerate them.
  3. For every decision a Govie makes, there are trade-offs, consequences, and rewards.

Newton's Laws of Motion

  1. A body moving in a straight line will remain moving at a constant speed unless acted upon by a force.
  2. The greater the mass of an object, the greater the amount of force that is needed to accelerate it.
  3. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
